Our website address is: https://lytquiz.xyz. LytQuiz is an intelligent quiz and flashcard learning platform powered by AI, featuring spaced repetition, collaborative groups, and adaptive learning algorithms.
What Personal Data We Collect and Why
We collect the following types of information:
- Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your username, email address, and password. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email from Google.
- User-Generated Content: Quizzes, flashcards, questions, answers, explanations, group messages, and any images you upload for AI-generated quiz creation.
- Usage Data: Quiz progress, scores, study streaks, flashcard reviews, badges, leaderboards, and general app interaction data to improve the service and personalise your experience.
- Technical Data: Device type, operating system version, unique device identifiers, IP address, crash reports, and analytics data collected via Firebase.
- Images: Photos you upload for OCR and AI quiz generation are processed locally on your device and temporarily sent to third-party services (Google ML Kit and OpenAI) only for text extraction and question generation.
How We Use Your Data
We use your data to:
- Provide and maintain the App and its features
- Authenticate users and manage accounts
- Generate AI-powered quizzes and flashcards
- Enable collaboration in groups and leaderboards
- Track progress, streaks, and achievements
- Improve the App through analytics and crash reporting

Media and Image Uploads
If you upload images for AI quiz generation, we recommend avoiding images containing embedded location data (EXIF GPS). The image is processed locally for text extraction and temporarily transmitted to third-party services. Images are not stored permanently unless you explicitly include them in quizzes or flashcards you create.
Cookies and Local Storage
The Website may use cookies for login sessions and preferences. The mobile App uses local storage (equivalent to cookies) to remember your login session, theme choice, and onboarding status. No advertising or tracking cookies are used.
Embedded Content from Other Websites
Pages on our Website or content within the App may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if you had visited the other website directly and may collect data about you, use cookies, or track your interaction.

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with trusted service providers:
- Google Firebase (authentication, analytics, crash reporting)
- Back4App / Parse Server (cloud database)
- OpenAI (AI quiz generation)

How Long We Retain Your Data
Account data and user-generated content are retained as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time via Settings → Delete Account, which removes all personal data (subject to legal retention requirements). Anonymous analytics data is retained for up to 90 days.
